May 22-30, 2021 British Car Week is an annual British car awareness week intended for promoting British cars everywhere. Participants don‘t need to travel very far for this event because it takes place in their own community. This is a calling for all owners of classic British cars to get together with other car owners in their own communities to show their cars, meet new enthusiasts, catch up with old friends, share stories about their cars, answer questions, and best of all, have a good time. While doing so, you‘ll have the opportunity to show your car off to the general public who rarely, or in some cases never, have had the opportunity to get a real-life, close-up glimpse of these unique automobiles of the past.
If you are already a British car enthusiast, think about how you originally became interested in these cars? Chances are you initially caught a glimpse of one driving down the road, and it piqued your interest. Later, you managed to aquire one of your own, and from that time on it has provided you with some of life‘s most cherished experiences. If you had not experienced that initial glimpse, you wouldn‘t have known about the car, and therefore, you wouldn‘t have been bitten by the famous British car hobby bug! Since these cars no longer populate the public roads today, it takes a special effort by current owners to help create awareness of the British car hobby. If you‘re a British car owner-enthusiast that has what it takes, then WE WANT YOU!
British Car Week is all about providing opportunities for potential enthusiasts to become aware of older model British cars, and hopefully generate new interest and enthusiasm among the the next generation who can enjoy and maintain them for many years to come

Peachtree MG Registry Zoom Tech Session
MGB Roadster Windshield Sealing by Larry Norton

Please join us on Saturday, May 29, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. for our fourth Zoom tech session.

Driving a MGB Roadster in the rain often times results in ‘wet feet’ because of leaks: the soft-top leaves several gaps, the top rail doesn’t fit quite right, the rubber under the windshield frame leaks, and sometimes water comes through the vents under the dash. It is the last two problems that Larry Norton will cover in this Zoom Tech Session.

Larry’s Tech Session will be Zoomed from my garage in Decatur, GA and the car that will get the treatment is Peachtree MG Register President AvivA’s 1963 Iris Blue MGB Roadster, ‘Emma’ *. We are preparing a trip to MG International 2021 in Atlantic City, NJ in June. Of course, there’s always a good chance that you’ll run into a rain shower at some point and to keep things dry is even more important on such a multi-day trip.

We will seal the rubber under the frame and side posts and inspect, and clean if necessary, the drain in the air vent system. Will this ensure that the president’s feet will remain dry? Well, ‘dryer’ for sure but there might always be some other places where water gets through. AvivA will find out when she drives Emma through the next downpour.

The Zoom starts at 10:00 am and after 30 minutes, with donuts and tire kicking, we’ll begin the program at 10:30 am. Below is the Zoom information.

Please call Reinout Vogt at 847 342 9804 or email reinoutvogt@gmail.com if you have any questions.

* It will be ‘Emma meets Emma’, because our M-Type is also named ‘Emma’.
